A 4-year-old girl said “daddy’s car”(?), “today is Monday!”many times in the morning, and I couldn’t understand what is it. So I asked their parents, “Do you understand what she wants to say?”.They also asked her, “Is it a car?”, but it was “card”.I couldn’t pronounce correctly, I thought it was car lol she said that last weekend as well, so what is it? I thought. Looking back, we made a message card for Father’s Day last Friday and said, “We’ll continue next Monday.” We whispered to each other as she glued message cards onto construction paper and made maracas. After crafting, the area around the desk is always a mess. Pens, papers, and stamps are scattered everywhere, and some of the caps are off, so it’s hard to clean up. I have to tidy up, but I let them do what they want as long as they enjoy it. It is like overseas. I don’t often see them cleaning up after themselves, and their mom and dad don’t say anything in particular about it. I think children were like that when I studied abroad, too. I wonder if this is normal.
朝から4歳の子が「ダディーズカー」（？）「Today is Monday」と何度も言うので、なんのことだろうと思いながら、パパやママに「彼女が言っていることがなんのことかわかる？」と聞くと、パパやママも最初は「車のこと？」と尋ねていたけど、「カード」のことだと判明した。発音が聞き取れず、ずっと車のことだと思っていた。笑 土日もずっとそのことを言っていたからなんだろうと思っていたけど、思い返せば金曜日、父の日のためにメッセージカードを作って、「続きは次の月曜日ね」と話したのだった。ちゃんと覚えていて、ずっと楽しみにしてたんだなあと思った。またヒソヒソ声で話しながら、メッセージカードをのりで画用紙に貼り付けたり、マラカスを作ったりした。工作をした後の机の周りはもういつも散々。ペンや紙、スタンプがあちらこちらに散らばって、キャップが取れたものもあるから片付けが大変。片付けるの私なんですけどーと思いながらも、まあ子どもたちが楽しんでできるならと自由にさせている。海外っぽいなあ。使ったものを自分で片付けるという姿をあまりみないしそれに対してパパママが特別何か言う訳でもない。留学してた時の小dもたちもそうだったような。これが普通なのかな。
