The two-year-old boy was hungry this morning, and as soon as he woke up, he came to eat breakfast on his own. We played with sand. Recently, their dad made a new sandpit, they bought sand, and then finally completed it today. We made a lot of sandcastles and counted them, watering plants. They were very sandy, so they took a bath earlier. After their dinner, a four-year-old girl asked me about the hide-and-seek Japanese version, and I taught her counting in Japanese. She said, “I can’t do that”, but tried slowly many times, she told her mum. It was cute. She made a space and said “my house”, so I asked “Can I come in?”, she responded “yes ！ This is a restaurant . I have Japanese food”.I ordered sushi, she prepared it while whispering “sushi…chopsticks.” It feels like I’m seeing a moment of acceptance and learning about a different culture. The two-year-old boy doesn’t say”No”, “Go away “much recently. Finally, he came to accept me.He played pretend play, gave me a cup toy. I tried to drink, he told me” bit hot”, he also said “ready”, “not yet”, “cooking”, and enjoyed it. When I opened my arms, he would usually say “No” to me, but he smiled and hugged me, and even gave me a high five. I was so happy!
I received a message from grand grandmother, I realized it’s been one month since I started my working holiday . Comparing when it was week one, I’m getting used to. Of course, I have a lot of hard things every day, but I think I’m starting to enjoy it little by little. I only have two months left to live with this family. Time flies!
今日の朝はお腹が空いていたのか2歳の子が起きてきてすぐに自分から朝ごはんを食べにきた。午後からは、砂遊び。最近新しい砂場をパパが作っていて、砂を買ってきて今日ついに完成した。砂の城をたくさん作って数えたり、植木に水をやったり。砂まみれになった子どもたちはいつもより早くお風呂に入った。ご飯の後、4歳の子がかくれんぼの日本語バージョンについて聞いてきて、日本のカウンティング？数字を教えた。「I can’t do that」と嘆いていたが、ゆっくり何度か挑戦して、ママに教えに行っていた。かわいい。仕切りを作って「my house」と言っていたので、「Can I come in?」と聞いてみると「yes！This is restaurant.I have Japanese food」と答えてきた。すしを頼むと「sushi…chopsticks」と準備していてかわいかった。異文化を受け入れる、学ぶ瞬間を見ている気がする。2歳の子は最近私に対して「NO」「Go away」をそんなに言わなくなった。ようやく受け入れるようになってくれたかな。今日はおままごとで店員さんをしていて、おもちゃのコップを持ってきて飲もうとすると「bit hot」と教えてくれたり、「ready」「not yet」「cooking」と言いながら楽しんでいた。手を広げるといつもだったら「NO」と拒むのに、笑顔でハグをしてくれて、「High five」とハイタッチもしてきた。嬉しいなー。
仕事が終わるとおばあちゃんからメッセージが来ていて、今日でワーホリ始まってちょうど１ヶ月だと気づいた。１週間目の時と比べたらだいぶ慣れてきたと思う。もちろん大変なことは毎日あるけど少しずつ楽しくなってきたかも。ここでの生活も残り２ヶ月。時間が過ぎるのってあっという間！
