I heard something sound in the living room around midnight. My host family usually goes to bed early, so I thought it was unusual, but then I got a message from the mom in the middle of the night. “The baby is coming, so I’m going to the hospital. We might be away for a few days.” For some reason, I woke up around 3 am today, and when I checked the time on my phone, I saw the message and jumped out of bed. (No one was home .) My work started after noon, and I didn’t know what to do, so I cleaned in house for about three hours. Once I finished what I had to do, I just contacted them to make up the rest of the time another day before going out. Feeling a little guilty, butmy senior came to Perth to visit, so we decided to have dinner together. I was surprised because I had thought we would never meet due to our schedules. It was only a short time, but I was happy to meet her. Senior with childcare experience is amazing. I was happy to be able to talk to her about various things.
It’s been almost 24 hours alone in a big house. I haven’t heard from them yet, but I hope the baby is coming safely and healthy.
夜中（１２時半くらい）にリビングでお湯を沸かしたりする音がした。いつもならファミリーたちは早く寝るから、珍しいなーと思っていたら夜中にママからメッセージが入っていた。『赤ちゃんが産まれそうだから病院に行ってくる。数日家を空けるかもしれない』 自分も今日は何故か３時くらいに目覚めて、スマホで時間を見た時にそのメッセージが見えて飛び起きた。（すでに誰も家にいない）今日の仕事は昼からで、何をすべきかわからず、とりあえず掃除を3時間ほどした。やることを終えてしまったのでとりあえず連絡だけはして、残りの時間は他の日に補うということで外に出かけた。少し罪悪感もありながら、先輩がパースに遊びに来ていたので一緒にご飯を食べることに。スケジュール的に絶対に会えないと思っていたのでまさかの展開でびっくり。短い時間だったけど会えて嬉しかったなあ。保育経験者の先輩はやっぱりすごい。色々話せて嬉しかった。大きな家に1人になってもうすぐ24時間。まだ連絡はないけど、無事に元気な赤ちゃんが生まれるといいな。
