I suddenly had to work in the morning as well. I was really looking forward to watching Koshien, but the game was on at the same time, so I could hardly watch it. But I turned it on as soon as I finished work and started watching from around the 8 inning. My local high school was still left; I was really into the game that I found myself gritting my teeth. As a result, they lost in the end, and what they left behind at Koshien was huge. Everyone did a great job! I’m really proud of them, and I think they made the summer of many people the best.
When I watched baseball, 4-year-old girl, who has been saying mean things lately, asked me, “Can you play with me?”.It was cute.Of course, I play with them and interact outside of work hours, but I try to keep a balance between work and personal time, so we decided to play together later. For lunch, when I was cooking simmered eggplant, she said, “〇〇（my name) makes strange food!!!” Her dad, who was nearby, explained, “She lives in Japan, so she makes Japanese food. Food is different in different countries.” She then became very interested. “Pizza is from Italy, curry is from Indian, sushi is from Japan…” After that, she got a new bike and went to play in the garden. “Look! My new bike!” she showed me, so when I asked her, “Can you show me how to ride it?” she got on with a smile. We played during work in the afternoon, and it was a calmer, nicer day than usual.
今日は昼からの仕事の予定だったけど急遽朝も仕事になった。甲子園を見る気満々だったけど、ちょうどその時間丸かぶりでほとんど見れず。でも仕事終わってすぐにつけて、8回あたりから見た。地元の高校が残っていて、見ているこちらもつい歯を食いしばるほど夢中になった。結果としては負けてしまったけど、この甲子園で彼らが残したものは大きすぎる。みんなお疲れ様。本当に誇りに思うし、多くの人の夏を最高の夏にしてくれたと思う。
野球を見ていたら、最近いじわるなことばかり言ってきていた4歳ガールが、「Can you play with me?」と言ってきた。かわいい。仕事時間外で遊んだり関わったりすることももちろんあるけど、一応仕事時間とメリハリはつけているので後で一緒に遊ぶことにした。お昼にはナスの煮浸しを作っていたら「〇〇makes strange food!!!」と言っていた。近くにいたパパが「日本に住んでるから日本の料理作ってるんだよ。国が違うと食べ物も違う」と教えていた。そしたらそれに興味津々。「ピザはイタリア、カレーはインド、寿司は日本…」と。そのあとは新しい自転車をゲットして庭で遊んでいた。「みて！新しい自転車！」と見せてくれたから、「どうやって乗るのか見せてくれる？」と聞くと笑顔で自転車に乗っていた。昼からの仕事時間も追いかけっこしたりいつもより穏やかで良い日だった。
